Photography is the science which helps us to get an exact image of what we see through our eyes. The Greek word “Photo” means light and “graph” means sketch. Thus Photography is a scientific process of obtaining a sketch by light i.e. a method of making pictures by the agency of light.
Emile Reynaud’s Praxinoscope (1877) was the first practicable device for projecting successive images on a screen. In 1889, George Eastman applied for a patent on his flexible photographic film, developed for the roll camera, and the last basic element of cinematography was in place. By 1895, after the invention of Cinematography by Lumiere Brothers, all these elements had been combined and movies were born.
